Questa
volta è Filippo che ci ha guidati alla scoperta di un nuovo
brano. Si tratta di un brano americano di carattere natalizio che
John Jacob Niles (1892-1980) sentì cantare nel 1933 in North
Carolina da una ragazzina di nome Annie Morgan, figlia di un predicatore,
che non riuscì a ricordare più di tre righe del testo.
A questo spunto iniziale Niles aggiunse i restanti versi e sviluppò la
melodia.
